Outline of the Program
You have seen that this school offers only one progressive program of study and training that is intended to lead to a "best practices" career as an Af-x Practitioner.
In some past cases, people have chosen to only participate in the Tier 1 Theory study to enhance and broaden their knowledge of the human affect state. The school no longer offers that "part of" the program as a separate study.
What follows below is an overview of the structure of the full Professional Practitioner Training Program and the manner of progressive study and training.
Important Note: One of the essential attributes of students is a commitment to complete and practice as (ideally full-time) professional Af-x Practitioners.
This Tier of study fully brings the student into the world of human affect and emotion. It particularizes unconscious activity and is specific about the ways that a subconscious affect matrix (formation) of early life initiators form the basis of adult emotional character, personality and all that entails - mental, emotional, psychological, attitudinal and psychosomatic.
This Tier's study is vital to the understanding of why Clinical Affectology and Af-x are conducted in the manner that has made them revolutionary, challenging, but most importantly, EFFECTIVE.
This is a wholly online distance part of the overall study program. Successful completion leads to awarding the School's Certificate of Affectology Theory.
The aim of Tier 1 study is not only to deliver important conceptual information that forms the basis of a rationale for the practical work, but to unashamedly bring students to a "state of mind" that recognizes the absolute importance of an understanding of the hidden emotional matrix of every person. This realization is intended to be a life-changing experience where the student ideally proceeds in life (everyday life and professional life) accepting that there is always "something going on" behind the facade of every person (including themselves).
Important Note: One of the essential attributes of students is a commitment to complete and practice as (ideally full-time) professional Af-x Practitioners. To this end, ALL material studied in this Tier 1 Theory is tailored to build practical understanding of the affect mind and a base of confidence to proceed with practical training.
Clinical Affectology Practice
This training program progresses from the theory Tier and covers aspects of formation of vital issues related to treatment of, and with, clients. It includes in-depth study into the reasons behind the totemic signature approaches of affectology that make it so different - even 'counter' - to mainstream psychotherapeutic approaches.
Meticulous detail is given to the manner in which Clinical Affectology sessions should be carried out, and it includes careful monitoring and molding of a trainee's overview of the importance of focusing on subconscious activity within the sphere of the affect dynamic.
This is a wholly online distance part of the program. Successful completion allows for a continuance through the 'Practical Mentorship' aspect of Tier 2 (below).
Tier 2 - cont'd
The make-up and conducting of this intensive section of Tier 2 training relies entirely on a number of factors.
Where possible, it is ideal for this to be conducted in Sydney with Ian White, over a predetermined number of days - usually a full working week. Because this overall course is designed for study in any country of the world (English language dependent) there exist other successful ways in which the mentoring process can be undertaken. Please view the Syllabus (see below) for this part of Tier 2 and the options for practical attendance and assessment.
Under inter-country circumstances, this crucial 'finishing' or 'honing' part of Tier 2 may remain as an online engagement. Successful completion leads to awarding the School's Diploma of Clinical Affectology.
As a requirement for eventual Af-x registration, trainees conduct a period of monitored time where they engage in real-time session work with paying clients. The School's highly attentive training to prepare trainees for this Tier 2a activity ensures that these early 'clients' are offered quality therapeutic engagement.
The purpose of the mandatory Tier 2a section is two-fold:
Otherwise known as "Tier 3," this activity is not structured in the way that the course to the end of Tier 2a is. In years gone by, this Tier 3 was a formal fee-paid component that was focused on professional practices.
With the advent of this School's courses being run online, this Tier 3, while retaining the "Tier" label, consists of training bulletins that are concerned with ongoing professional development. They are distributed regularly, and the Tier 3 activity is free to completed trainees.
About Af-x Registration and Licensing
Throughout our information on both this and the Emotions In Balance site, we have explained that the Af-x registration depends on a fixed period (including a set number of active clients - see above, Tier 2a) of working and monitoring outcomes FOLLOWING awarding of the Diploma.
If you require clarification further to that offered in this site, please contact the School for details.
Important Note: One of the essential attributes of students is a commitment to complete and practice as (ideally full-time) professional Af-x Practitioners. In this regard, proceeding through the complete program, including the Tier 2a monitoring process, is essential toward Af-x Registration.
